Signature Slapp

Late last year the insta fatigue was real, so we decided to take a break. Our founder Jamila spent weeks researching analogue video and photography, as a way to showcase our signature makeup looks of the moment.

She discovered the Lomokino camera from Lomography: a windup video camera, that was equally hilarious and frustrating on set. It was an experiment, and a way of satiating our nostalgic yearnings. Not every shot worked and let's just say we were glad to have our iPhones on hand; but it was so great to do something different, and go back to a simpler time.

Signature Slapp is all about celebrating Glamour IRL. How everyday you can be your most glamorous, whether that’s with a lip tint, or full on glam and lashes.

For gorgeous mum Lee-Anne, model of our High Glamour look, we opted for full on glam; with lashes, glossy lips and a smokey gold eye. The stunning Noonsuite palette from Smith & Cult, gave the look glamour with a little grit. Lashes came courtesy of Ardell and lips were glazed in a gorgeous Elizabeth Arden raspberry. Lee-Anne found her perfect foundation match with the Slapp app; opting for Fenty Beauty in 420.

For student stunner Sophie, we wanted a look to highlight her incredible features; so the epic Terrestrial Shine: a look that was all about layering up on highlight - seemed the most fitting.

Tangerine eyes were given extra gloss with our trusty Noto Botanics Glow Stick and base came courtesy of MAC’s Studio Fix Longwear. All high points were slapped with the Smith & Cult Illumify Stick in Starlings, to give this a very much achievable high shine.

For stunning Super in the making, and long-term Slapp muse: Victoria Clay, we had to channel one of our favourite all time Supers: Jerry Hall. Very few epitomise the glamour that defined the seventies, better than miss Hall. For Vic, we brushed out her hair for natural volume and her stunning skin was given a little lift with a touch of MAC Pro Longwear and moisturiser.

The look? Rusty Future. An ode to our must-have eye hue and a look we’re tipping to blow up in 2018: tangerine eyes. These excessively orange eyes were left matte for impact and paired Milani's Making me Matte, for an unexpected twist.
