Where are you from?

Seville, Spain

What do you do?

I'm still in my last year of university (Fine Arts) but I'm a professional artist (painting, drawing, photography etc.)

What’s your day to day like?
I go to classes mainly and work on my projects, but I also need to find time every day to do makeup, read books and watch movies.

What was the initial spark that led you to pursue a career in beauty?

I honestly don't remember how it stopped being a personal thing and became something I shared with people, it sort of happened.

I always enjoyed makeup as a creative outlet, I used to do thematic photoshoots just for the sake of it, even before any social media. I didn't even show them to anybody. Makeup and hair was just a part of it, just as the photography itself, the lighting, the editing. I just loved to do it all, and I still do. Then I got into Art School (I studied Architecture before but never finished, though I have the intention of doing it in the future), and then I started doing makeup looks as if they were little artworks.

I was so into beauty too since forever, that one day I just thought, why not share it? I just felt this impulse to keep doing and doing more.

You’re making a name for yourself within this highly competitive industry. How are you finding it?

I still can't see it this way, it's been very surreal and very very honouring. I just can't believe it sometimes, it feels like a dream.

What inspires you about beauty? And how do you go about creating content surrounding beauty?

Being an artist, the amount of colours, textures, effects and such that you can achieve with makeup is just too inspiring not to go there.

Slapp Chat with Deathless Vogue

I just see makeup as a very complete art and I have never been able to resist it. It calls me so so much. Those colours and textures themselves are what inspire me, along with other great makeup artists that I have had the luck to know through social media.

Some products are so iconic that they just demand to be used to create something as amazing as you can.

For creating the content, generally I just sit and experiment, I enjoy the moment so much, I can do five looks in a row. Then I post some of them and magically people seem to enjoy it. I just feel so humbled.

What has been your greatest achievement in your career so far?

I could mention things like getting recognised by some brands that I admired, or just the fact of getting paid for my work, but for me the greatest achievement would always be people. The amazing people you get to know, how they help and inspire you and how you help and inspire them, and the beautiful relationships that you can build with creators all around the world.

When someone said 'your art is like therapy to me'. That will stick with me forever.

What advice would you give to other girls and guys looking to get into creative industries?

Be yourself and be yourself shamelessly. Never worry about following trends or using the products that everybody uses at the moment. Follow your own path, love what you do. Express yourself.

What are your experiences of diversity in the industry?

I think sadly it is nowhere as diverse as it should be, but I see it slowly going there.

Slapp Chat with Deathless Vogue

What inspires you?

Art. Music, a lot. Movies, books, paintings. Other artists. But music is a must. It's like, you put a song on repeat and a look comes out, even when you feel absolutely uninspired, music has always something for you.

Who is your beauty muse?

I love Pat McGrath's work so so much. And the fact that I got to know her work because people always told me that my work reminded them of hers feels just like, too amazing for this world.

How do you stay healthy, body and mind?

I actually struggle a lot to stay healthy, especially mentally. But I think that even in the worst times the most important thing that you have to remember is, keep trying. Keep doing it for yourself. Being healthy is important and you deserve it, always keep working towards it, never think that it doesn't matter or that is not worthy. You deserve to be happy and feel good about yourself, inside and out.

Beauty is....

It comes from the inside. Being creative and kind. Having your own vision of beauty and not being afraid of putting it out there. Being yourself.

Would you share an early beauty memory with us?

I've been obsessed with beauty and makeup since I was a child, though I didn't have any access to it and I wasn't allowed to wear any makeup, so I practically remember every contact I had with makeup in my whole life. I remember cherishing lip balms when I was a kid like they were the most amazing thing I ever owned.

I also remember the first nail polish I got, a blue glitter one. I wasn't even allowed to wear it but I looked at it everyday.

What’s your signature beauty look?

When I'm working, glitter and gloss; when I'm in the real world, a dark lip and some blush.

 Slapp Chat with Deathless Vogue

Is there anything you loved growing up, that inspired you to break into this industry and still exists today?

Lady Gaga's music. Her songs are obviously art, but they are also fashion and makeup. They are the kind of songs that demand a thousand looks inspired in them.

Slapp Chat with Deathless Vogue

If you could only Slapp on one beauty product, what would it be?

Blush, highlighter or a dark matte lipstick.

Slapp Chat with Deathless Vogue

What’s next for you?

Keep working, discovering and trying to always give the best of myself. Keep inspiring and being inspired.

Makeup is an art and it should always be a journey. You have to keep moving towards what inspires you.
