When
it comes to base products, it seems brands are really reinventing the
wheel. And as strangely balmy Autumn days have us aching for a little
less on the face, the new wave of solid tinted moisturisers, are ideal.
What
we love about them most, is the beautiful, natural finish they give,
for the days you want a to look low key, or want to touch up on the go
Here are 5 we’re currently loving.
Nudestix Nudies Tinted Blur Stick
The instigator of this roundup, the Nudestix Blur Stick, this is truly unique – it gives the look of a tinted primer, but can be applied in seconds. It feels fairly silicone-y to the touch, but is incredibly lightweight on the skin.
And whilst not especially covering, it does have a blurring effect, particularly on any textural issues. The shade range is surprisingly broad as well, so top marks all-round.
Cult classic RMS Un-Cover Up, has a slightly harder and waxier texture than the Nudestix, but once warmed with fingers it can be melted into skin for a stunningly dewy finish. RMS products are also all organic and chemical free.
Clinique Chubby In The Nude Foundation Stick
This is another product with similarities to the Nudestix. Although it has more coverage, it’s arguably closer to a tint, than a foundation. Fairly sheer, when blended over the skin, gives a barely-there effect and lasts surprisingly long, for a light coverage, dewy base.
Whilst this does work well under the eyes, but doesn’t do much in terms of providing any real coverage. What it is absolutely fantastic for, is used all over the face with a buffing brush. It gives an even toned, incredibly hydrated finish without really suggesting you’re wearing makeup at all. Instagram MUA Katie Jane Hughes called this a solid tinted moisturiser, and what she says goes.
In name at least, this warrants a mention; but on paper, it’s hard to describe. It’s pigment free, so comes in one shade. In some ways, it’s difficult to know if it truly does anything at all. But then in other ways, you look in the mirror whilst wearing it and see an angel staring back. Make of that what you will.
