Our Top 5 Picks From Nip + Fab

You may have heard of Nip & Fab, through their early collabs with Kylie Jenner, as the baby sister to high-performance skincare brand Rodial, or as the company that has made Dragon’s Blood in Skincare, cool.

We’ve always been intrigued by the brand, but admittedly it wasn’t until they released their highly anticipated makeup line, that we knew we had to jump on the bandwagon.

Earlier this year Nip + Fab released a makeup range of liquid lipsticks, palettes and foundations for all skin tones! We actually couldn’t believe it when the foundations landed at Slapp HQ, with shades ranging from #05 Porcelain to #50 Deep. It’s so rare that a young brand will be inclusive from day one, and for that alone, we have to give Nip + Fab serious props!

The Foundation

We weren’t expecting the super affordable £12.95 foundation, to be anything out of the ordinary, we were just happy that they were inclusive. So when we actually got around to trying the Foundation, we were truly gobsmacked, at how incredible it really is.

It has fast become our everyday go to foundation, and is seriously up there with the likes of Nars, Too Faced and Bobbi.

The Nip + Fab Foundation, comes in a squeezy plastic bottle, meaning it can literally go with you everywhere! The formula is pigmented, but feels miraculously lightweight on the skin and one application is perfect for an everyday dewy look.

A little translucent powder sits perfectly over it, if you’re into more of a matte finish. And this gorgeous new addition to our makeup bags, really goes the distance; looking almost as great at the end of the day as it did in the beginning - which is no small feat.

The one thing we’re missing are a few more in-between shades, but thankfully their lightening drops are awesome at filling in those initial colour gaps. Use this once and you’ll be hooked.

So what else do you need to get your hands on at Nip?

Here are four other absolute Must-Haves.

Glycolic Pads: Night Extreme & Foaming

Ok so this is slightly cheating, but we literally can’t choose between these two.

The Nip + Fab Glycolic Night Pads, are pre-soaked cotton pads, perfect for removing those last traces of grime and makeup- and prepping your skin, for an intense night serum, these are our Founder's absolute faves (along with everything in this list.)

A slight step up from their Glycolic Day pads, the Night Pads Extreme are packed with 5% Glycolic acid, for the ultimate night treatment: to refine pores, brighten the complexion and de-congest the skin, by improving the skin’s natural exfoliation process.

The pads are so easy to use, and so much juicier than wipes.

In case you were wondering… Glycolic Acid, is being used increasingly in skincare, to gently exfoliate the skin and help fade discolouration on the face, from issues like acne scarring and pigmentation. Be careful though, as Glycolic Acid can make your skin slightly sensitive to the sun, so be sure to use products with SPF.

We also love the new Foaming Pads. Mainly because like the Night Pads, they are super easy to use, but are incredibly foamy. These are great if you’re away from home, or feeling like minimising your skincare routine. We used these to prep our models, on our #FestivalSlapp shoot, and our MUA Meena was hooked. They’re currently her new obsession, and for good reason.

Primer Water

We love a good setting spray as much as the next makeup addict, but 6 times out of 10 they do nothing. So when we tried the Nip + Fab, priming water, we weren’t expecting much. Well all we can say is OMG. This stuff is better than any setting spray we’ve tried, at keeping our makeup in place. Yep it’s better than Urban Decay’s All Nighter, Estee Lauder’s Fix and Perfect and pretty much every liquid primer out there (with a few exceptions).

This stuff is wet! So we would suggest spritzing with some restraint, but tbh it really doesn’t matter. Spritz this after applying moisturiser, wait about 20 seconds until tacky/semi dry and begin to apply your makeup as normal. If you’re committed to the cause, Setting Spray is a great idea, as the two of these together is like fort knox. If you don’t believe us, try one day using your normal primer and setting spray, then another day, using your normal setting spray and this priming spray. Honestly you’ll never go back.

Eyeshadow Palette

The Nip Eyeshadow Palette has fast become one of their bestsellers, mainly because of the great colour choice, the fab price and the great mix of shimmer and matte shades. For darker skin tones, not all of the colours will really do much for you, but they’re great as base and crease shades.

This is a really great value palette, that is ideal if you’re looking for wearable shades, that would work for any occasion. Amp up, or chill out your eye look according to your needs. The pigment on these pans are great, can be used wet or dry, and are extremely buildable.

Plus there’s a good amount of plums, golds and champagne, so we’re happy.

Highlight Palette

Last on our list is the Highlight Palette, which we used on all of our girls in the #FestivalSlapp shoot- which is incredible, considering we had a real range of skin tones. Another fave of our MUA Meena, this Highlight Palette is literally the stuff affordable dreams are made of.

For £15, you get six great shades, both matte and shimmery. The range of colours in the palette, addresses all of your highlighting needs: brows, nose, cheeks, there’s something for every element of your face. Word on the street, is that this is a direct dupe of the ABH palette.

The Contour Kit, available in Light, Medium & Dark, is also awesome.
