Festival Beauty Vol 1: Colour

Glastonbury is over, which means Festival season has begun. As we’ve got a festival party and lots of exciting videos coming up, we figured we’d lay the groundwork, in getting you prepped for the festival season ahead.

For our our three-part festival beauty series we’ll be recommending some of our favourite new and established brands, products and new releases for Summer.

First up, we’re discussing Colour, which is the easiest way to get into that Festi state of mind.

Whether you’re going for purple hair, pink nails, or pastel shadow, here are a few of the ‘colour’  brands we’ll be reaching for this Festival Season.

iZ Beauty of London -  Festival Fever Gel Effect (£6, Izbeauty)

Adorable and created specifically for festival season, these nail polishes are packed with pigment and will amp up any outfit… even if your hands are covered in mud. Each colour has a festival-themed name, and we can’t get enough of these statement shades. Bang-on summer trends, with muted neons and vivacious pastels, any shade from the range is a winner.

Colorsmash- Color Kissed Hairspray - (£10.74 -Adeldirect)

Vibrant and super easy to both apply and remove, these temporary hair colour sprays are arriving just in time for festival season. The sprays are infused with lush natural ingredients such as aloe vera, avocado and quinoa, and are free of iron oxides (which are known to dry hair out and make it coarse.) Each show-stopping colour can be brushed in for a natural feel, or sprayed in layers to hold a style. If you’re a lover of space buns or braids, this is also perfect for you! Just style, spray, and enjoy a long lasting look, or brush for soft subtlety.

MAC - Pro Longwear Paint Pot - (£16 - Johnlewis)

Available in 18 shades of über long wearing colour, these powerful pots have made a name for themselves as being easy to work with and immovable when dry. Each shade is housed in a chic and portable little glass pot, and offers an intense pop of colour that’s both buildable alone and a fantastic primer for powders. Ideal for all your tent-makeup needs, they can be applied perfectly with fingers and these lovely shades will lock down to stay colourful until you choose to remove them.

NYX: “Vivid Brights Eyeliner - (£5.50 - Cult Beauty)

In a rainbow of nine bright shades ranging from primary colours to pastels and black, these liquid liners are ideal for festival beauty. Inexpensive, totally transportable, and such incredible quality, the formulas for these are so smooth and non flaky. Feeling yellow? Baby pink? Lime green? They’re all at your fingertips. An added bonus is that these can be used to draw patterns on any area of the face, so let your creativity run free!

Makeup Geek - Plush Lip Matte - (£9.50 - Beautybay)

Liquid lipstick has carved its name out as a beauty staple, and the appeal of such a resilient product during days of dabbing, makes total sense. In our opinion, what’s even better than a hard, fast-drying matte is a soft, plush matte liquid lipstick. This way, crumbling and flaking, whilst far from your tent and the possibility of touch-ups is minimised, as the product is naturally more flexible and forgiving. These products by Makeup Geek are a softer alternative, and they have us swooning at the array of gorgeous colours.
