Top 5: Foolproof Concealers

There are so many concealers on the market, you could go as far as to say there are, simply, too many. There are concealers for zits, obviously, but there are also concealers for brightening, concealers for contouring, concealers for your concealers when they're feeling a little self-conscious...the list goes on. So to make life that little bit easier, we’ve rounded up and compiled our top 5 foolproof concealers. Blemish, be gone.

Glossier Stretch Concealer

Glossier’s concealer is so spreadable it can be slathered all over the face - which is often what we tend to do. Both illuminating and moisturising, it doubles up as a colour corrector and even adds a bit of highlight too. The oil-base of this concealer makes it go on smooth, whilst its brightening qualities make it a perfect candidate for wearing it under the eye. Better for dry skin gals than those who are on the more oily side, it’s best used by those who want a concealer that will instantly wake up the face and balance redness, rather than to really cover anything up.

Tarte Shape Tape

Tarte Shape Tape is often referred to as the OG holy grail in the beauty community - and for good reason too. It’s both dewy and heavily pigmented and works wonders under the eye, cancelling out dark circles. It also blends into the skin really easily, making it a great candidate as an all over face concealer, as well.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

We’ve tried and tested many a concealer, but this one is truly one of our all-time favourites. Dewy, spreadable and non-creasing, it’s a do-it-all product that can be used under the eyes and is pigmented enough to cover pimples too. It blends well with fingers, but for a seamless finish, we recommend buffing it into the skin with a beauty blender.

La Girl PRO.conceal HD High Definition Concealer

Don’t be fooled by the price, this high-coverage concealer packs a punch. Sticky, thick and a more mattifying formula, it’s ideal for blemish concealment and oil control. Bear in mind though that concealer isn’t going to be ideal under the eyes or on drier skin types, but it is going to hide any raging hormonal breakouts coming through on your chin midweek.

Maybelline Fit Me

This £4 gem works wonders on dark circles and correcting hyperpigmentation. It’s super liquidy, which makes it really easy to spread and buff into your skin for a natural finish when you just want a touch of coverage here and there. And, out of all these concealers, this one does the best job at giving you soft but efficient coverage for when you want to hide spots, but also want to look like you’re wearing nothing on the skin at all.
